We are Dick and Nell Stanley and - of course - we own horses. Our place is Stanley's Pride, located in Spring Hill, Florida. During the summer of 2004 Florida was under four hurricane warnings, two of which affected our area. The last one got us really worried, and we frantically googled the web in search of a place to evacuate our horses to. After hours of browsing and not finding anything suitable, and only one day left to either get out or prepare for the worst, we decided to stay put. We worked like crazy to clear our place of everything that possibly hurt the animals and had little time left to take care of ourselves. It was a nerve-wrecking twelve hours later that the idea for this website was born (and it still took us six months to get it started!). |
